REFLECTION ON THE PROJECT
This project has been a new experience for us, we were able to learn something new in different aspects
On Community engagement
Community engagement was rather new to all three of us since most of the time, students normally engage in society through volunteering or part-time jobs and internships. Working as a team on a project with both "service" and "learning" is quite a meaningful and educational way to approach and provide the opportunities for students to engage in society.
On Methodology
The 5 steps "Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Testing"guide the project step by step, together with supplementary thinking patterns/formats and concepts like SOAP notes and Triangle of Stakeholder form, help us clarify our working progress and prevent anything important from missing.
On Teamwork, Efficiency and Communication
Through this project, we learned that we could be the most efficient when everyone does the things they are good at. By allocating work properly and entrusting the job on teammates, the outcome of the project turned out to be very positive.
On Urban farming and Partnerships
Without joining the course and carrying out the project, we might not have known much about urban farming in Hong Kong. Rooftop Republic as an organization is new to us, and perhaps also to many Hong Kong citizens.
It is a pleasure to be introduced to and work with friendly people from the organization to understand their practice and helping them on their difficulties.
We have also done quite a lot of research on urban farming in Hong Kong, as well as gathering information about different crops due to the game development. Overall, the experience has been comfortable and interesting.
